Wakefield, Edmund Butcher and Grainger John. The six Barton brothers were all early pioneers of the Bourke district, beginning their careers in the wool industry there. The book also looks into the history of Bourke, Cobar and Nymagee (and the copper industry in the latter two areas), Willara, Brindingabba and Mooculta stations, and follows the lives of the Barton descendants.
